The SouthPAN Computer Systems Architect Senior will drive the development, deployment & delivery of system components within the Southern Positioning Augmentation Network Wide Area Network (SWAN), in accordance with Lockheed Martin Australia's internal processes and program specific objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
The Computer Systems Architect Senior is required to:
* Implement and support secure, high-performance network infrastructure across the program
* Monitor, maintain, and optimise LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure
* Ensure high availability of network services through appropriate configuration and monitoring
* Implement and manage firewalls, routers, and switches, and other security policies
* Install, configure, update, and upgrade network devices
* Receive, triage, and implement security vulnerability mitigations and fixes
* Implementation of network and hardening standards like Vendor Hardening, CIS Benchmark, STIG, etc.
* Oversee and guide the team responsible for physical network infrastructure
* Diagnose and resolve network-related problems, incidents, outages, and performance issues
* Assist with the design and rollout of network upgrades/baselines and implementations
* Create and maintain accuracy in network documentation and diagrams
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in diverse teams
* Collaborate with vendors and service providers
About you:
* Significant experience in the development of computer system networking infrastructure.
* Significant analysis skills with an ability to analyse and develop alternatives to determine best value based on customer driven objectives.
* Significant communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
* Tertiary qualifications from an accredited institution in a related discipline (typically Information Technology), and/or equivalent experience/combined education. Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, Network+, RHCE etc. are highly regarded.
* Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor small teams of computer systems architects.
* 10yr+ experience as a Network Administrator/Engineer in Engineering and/or Operational Technology environments
* Excellent hands-on experience in Cisco firewalls, routing, and switching
* Excellent proficiency in troubleshooting complex network and performance issues
* Extensive knowledge of network security, segmentation, access controls, and security hardware
* Advanced understanding of log collection tools such as ELK for network monitoring
* Extensive experience with WAN, VPLS
* Australian Government Security Clearance: BASELINE
Desirable
* Demonstrated experience working within an engineering or project environment (preferably in the defence industry).
* Significant understanding of Configuration Management.
* Significant experience working on Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence.
* Significant experience working with industry-standard architectural frameworks or methodologies, such as Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
