Stevens Cargo Services is the supplier of specialised machinery to the bulk shipping industry. The Australian owned & operated family company was established in 1990 and operates nationwide.

We have available, a position for a WA Workshop Supervisor. Located in Kwinana, this position will provide coordination of the Maintenance and Servicing of the wharf-based machinery used in the unloading of bulk vessels at the Kwinana Bulk Jetty. In addition, assist the WA Maintenance Manager with maintenance of the workshop fleet, ensuring all machinery is operational at all times and supplied in accordance with the high company standards.

Core objectives
* Setting up machinery for shipping operations.
* Provide directions to the maintenance staff as required.
* Oversee Maintenance objectives with Operations team.
* Being on call when required. 24/7 to provide support to all vessels using Stevens equipment.
* Remotely monitor and provide offsite support to operations of ship unloading.
* Coordinate on call staff to attend site to rectify issues in a timely manner.
* Resolve breakdowns or replacements in a timely manner.
* Operate Enviro Hoppers, Transportable Hoppers, Forklifts, EWP's, Excavators, Skid steers and tractors etc.
* Plan and direct the washing down of machinery between vessels when required
* Coordinate servicing & preventative maintenance between and during shipping operations.
* Providing maintenance schedules on a quarterly basis on all equipment and provide forecasted budgets to keep the fleet operational.
* Liaising with Staff, Stevedores, Port Officers, Clients, Contractors & Suppliers.
* Load / unload machinery from trucks when required.
* Coordinate the rebuilding and refurbishing of various types of equipment when necessary.
* Monitor, record and assess equipment and components.
* Complete Pre-start Shipment checklists and Post Shipment reports.
* Coordinate and manage repairs in-house or outsource to contractors where required.
* Ordering parts and services for machinery.
* Assist WHSE coordinate safety and training
* Liaise with the Operations Manager to assist with staff & equipment
* High involvement in upgrades and design of equipment systems and software.
* The role is predominately a hands-on role involving office and outdoor work as required.
Qualifications
* Trade Qualifications management skills
* Forklift, EWP Licenses
* First Aid and safety working skills
* Heavy vehicle license and operation experience
Experience
* Good understanding of preventative maintenance
* Ability to implement scopes of works required and work around unforeseeable site restraints.
* Experience with computer programmes and ability to implement and maintain systems.
* High involvement in the design, implementation and continued maintenance of the software systems on the KBJ Enviro hoppers.
* Can multitask and enjoy being part of a team.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* Flexible to work weekends and out of hours when ships are working.
* Excellent ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and decision make efficiently.
* Competently operate any equipment in the Stevens Fleet.
* Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
* Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
* Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner.
* Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
* Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner.
