Capital Hotel Group is a dynamic and growing hospitality group operating some of Canberra’s most recognised accommodation and dining venues, including Avenue Hotel, Pavilion on Northbourne, Deco Hotel and Marble & Grain.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Payroll Officer to join our finance team and support the ongoing success of our hotels and restaurants.

About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and payroll across the group.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Accounts Payable
* Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
* Reconciling supplier statements
* Managing payment runs
* Ensuring correct coding and cost allocation
* Maintaining strong supplier relationships
* Assisting with month-end procedures
Payroll
* Processing weekly and fortnightly payroll
* Ensuring compliance with relevant Awards (Hospitality Industry Award experience highly regarded)
* Managing employee records and onboarding documentation
* Superannuation, PAYG and payroll reconciliations
* Responding to payroll queries from staff and management
About You
You are organised, reliable and have strong attention to detail. You understand the importance of confidentiality and accuracy in financial administration.
Ideally you will have:
* Previous experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll
* Experience in hospitality or multi-site operations (highly regarded)
* Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and Awards
* Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, or similar systems)
* Intermediate Excel skills
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to manage deadlines and work autonomously
