Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of our food manufacturing plant.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing teams, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Lead and coordinate a team of maintenance fitters and electricians across shifts.
* Oversee daily preventative and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
* Manage contractors and liaise with suppliers to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
* Support production teams to maintain plant uptime and efficiency.
* Drive continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability and plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of maintenance fitters and electricians across shifts. This includes overseeing their daily tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that they have the necessary resources to perform their duties.
2. Maintenance Planning:
You will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure that production schedules are met. This includes creating and implementing maintenance plans, monitoring progress, and making adjustments as needed.
3. Contractor Management:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing contractors and liaison with suppliers to ensure that work is completed safely and effectively. This includes selecting and hiring contractors, coordinating their work, and ensuring that they meet company standards.
4. Production Support:
You will provide support to production teams to maintain plant uptime and efficiency. This includes working closely with production staff, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
5. Continuous Improvement:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability and plant performance. This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing solutions, and implementing changes to improve overall plant performance.
Requirements:
1. Trade Qualification:
A trade qualification in mechanical fitting or electrical work is essential for this role.
2. Leadership Experience:
Proven leadership experience is required, including experience in supervising and managing teams.
3. Preventative Maintenance Systems:
A strong working knowledge of preventative maintenance systems is highly regarded. Experience with CMMS software is an advantage.
4. Problem-Solving Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a high-pressure environment.
