Role Overview
The purpose of this role is to install, repair and maintain the plumbing systems throughout Fiona Stanley Hospital. The role requires working as a first responder for all maintenance activities, including effective repairs as part of the rectification team, and planned and preventive maintenance. The role works Day shift only with the span of work hours between 6 am to 6 pm. Flexible availability for start time is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Repair and maintain hydraulic piped systems, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.
* Study and interpret building plans and inspect structures to assess materials and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe repair/installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
* Undertake minor construction tasks.
* Use relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
* Assess the risks associated with the position day‐to‐day activities and report any hazards.
Key Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated experience using all types of plumbing materials, e.g., HDPE fusion weld, Aquatherm plastic pipe system, Rehau plastic pipe system.
* Ensure service delivery issues are resolved in accordance with program timeframe objectives.
* Make clear judgments around matters which can be handled effectively without escalation.
* Assess occupational health and safety needs to meet job requirements.
* Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Trade certificate in a relevant plumbing discipline.
* Valid West Australian plumbing trade licence.
* Valid West Australian backflow prevention licence (desirable).
