Job Description
We are seeking a talented Front End Developer to join our team on a parental leave cover role. In this position, you will play a key role in the development of high-quality, contemporary web-delivered application user interfaces for our suite of ITS products and solutions.
You will actively contribute to product design processes and be an integral part of a Scrum team. This role also involves contributing to the maintaining of web application development technologies, languages, practices, and frameworks in use at our organization, ensuring they remain appropriate and sustainable as industry innovates and practices evolve.
Key responsibilities include working with your scrum team and product manager to ensure quality of product functionality, suitability, usability, and performance. You will undertake software development, maintenance, and testing activities as directed by your team leader and senior members of the Product Development group.
Other duties include implementing complex, web-based user interface applications using industry best practice approaches and technologies, working with other Front-End Developers to identify and evaluate potential technology and process improvements to improve quality and commercial outcomes, producing necessary design and technical documentation, performing version control of source code and related documentation produced above, and championing our software development practices, including coding guidelines, unit testing, code review, documentation, etc.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 5 years' professional experience in software development
* Expertise in React, Typescript (essential) as well as ideally HTML, CSS, JavaScript,.NET, C#, Python
* Experience with source code control and CI/CD pipeline technologies
* An appreciation of aesthetics, function, design, and related user experience principles
* A practical understanding of Scrum roles and practices
* The ability to work effectively with limited supervision
* The ability to mentor and coach junior team members, if required
Desirable skills and qualifications include experience with test automation frameworks and tools, an understanding of internet protocols and service/client-side architectures, and an understanding of PKI certificates, content security policies, cross-origin.
