We’re seeking a reliable, friendly, and adaptable person to support our team on Saturdays (9:00 am–1:00 pm) in the yard and at the front of house. This casual role is perfect for someone who is semi-retired or retired, including grey nomads, who enjoy being active and meeting people and have practical, hands-on experience.
The ideal person will have real, practical experience in caravanning, campervanning and/or motor homing, including being confident with tasks such as hitching up, moving vehicles safely, and understanding what life “on the road” is really like. You’ll often be talking to customers who may have little to no RV experience, so your knowledge, insights, and ability to explain the pros and cons, answer questions, and share practical guidance will be vital to success in this role.
This is not the type of role suited to someone with no RV/caravan/motorhome experience. It will best suit someone with a strong background and confidence in the RV lifestyle, and who can bring a well-travelled, hands-on perspective to customer interactions.
You’ll help keep the yard running smoothly, assist customers, and provide support to the team when they’re away.
This role would suit someone local to the Tweed / Gold Coast / SE QLD region, or travellers based in the area who want a regular Saturday role and occasional weekdays (Hours 9.00 am – 5.00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break).
Key Responsibilities
* Greet visitors and support customers in the yard
* Answer phones and provide general enquiries
* Assist with moving and preparing RVs/campers for display
* Light mechanical / handyman tasks (where safe and appropriate)
* Support with paperwork or basic office tasks over time
* Provide backup support on weekdays when full-time staff are on leave
Essential Attributes & Skills
* Warm, friendly, and approachable attitude
* Comfortable talking to the public and working independently
* Basic mechanical understanding and practical “handyman” skills
* Adaptable and able to assist in various yard tasks
* Good communication and customer service skills
* Ability to be on your feet, get in/out of vehicles, and handle physical yard duties.
Note: You must be physically capable of performing inherent job requirements, such as walking around the yard, standing for extended periods, getting in/out of vehicles, and performing light-to-moderate physical tasks.
There may be up to 10 Saturdays total added throughout the year, as agreed, and you will be given as much notice as possible, so we do ask for some level of flexibility.
