About the Role
The Child Protection Counsellor will be a key member of our specialist counselling team, dedicated to improving the emotional and social wellbeing of children, young people, parents and carers where there has been a confirmed history of violence and neglect.
This role involves providing trauma-informed interventions, case coordination, client-focused advocacy, liaison and consultation, as well as consultation in relation to child protection matters to other health professionals.
We are seeking a skilled professional with a degree in Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy, and extensive postgraduate clinical experience in providing counselling and groupwork interventions to clients where child protection incidents have occurred.
A strong ability to engage with families who may have service hesitancy or barriers is also essential for this role.
Employment Type: This is a part-time (.8FTE) permanent opportunity.
