We are looking for a passionate and hardworking **Weighbridge Operator** to join our Waste Management team at Singleton Council. In this role, you'll make a real impact on the everyday lives of people within our community by achieving important outcomes for Singleton to grow and flourish.

**THE ROLE**

This position requires you to work an eight-day fortnight roster system, including weekend work, and be available on rare occasions for after-hours emergencies as required. In your role you will be responsible for conducting all duties associated with the operation of the weighbridge at the Singleton Waste Management Facility, ensuring that the disposal of all waste materials bought into the Waste Management Facility is disposed of according to Council's operational procedures, management plans and Landfill Master Plan. The position will also, when requested, provide data and information for reporting purposes.

In collaboration with another operator, the position is also responsible for:

- Providing operational oversight of the activities on the facility and providing prompt information to the supervisor on customer activity.
- Ensuring customer, contractor and staff traffic movements are undertaken in accordance with the Waste Management Facility Traffic Management Plan.
- Undertaking basic financial management practices, including cash register operations, cash reconciliations, float management in accordance with Council's operating procedures.
- Maintaining the weighbridge and education centre in a proper and efficient manner, including stocking of consumables, routine cleaning and reporting of hazards and incidents.
- Recording and reporting community complaints and customer requests using Council's customer request management system (CRM)
- Actively maximising workplace safety and maintain safety records.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Demonstrated strong customer service focus with the ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Certificate in weighbridge operations and/or demonstrated experience in weighbridge operations.
- Sound knowledge and awareness of WHS practices.
- Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to resolve problems.
- Current NSW drivers licence Class C
- First Aid Certificate
- Certificate III in Waste Management
- WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Card (white card).

This position is offered on a **permanent, full-time **basis working** a rostered 8 days (76 hours) per fortnight**.

Remuneration for this position is based on grade **5 **of the salary system which equates to a base salary between **$2,073 + weekend shift penalty rates and $2,332 + weekend shift penalty rates **per fortnight plus other award allowances and superannuation. Additional benefits include **5 weeks accrued annual leave** per year.
