Helping Community Solutions is a community services organization dedicated to supporting at-risk youth in crisis housing, partnering closely with the Department of Communities. We collaborate with foster care programs and family reunification initiatives to ensure holistic support and sustainable futures for our youth.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team in providing support and guidance to young individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping others and making a positive impact on the lives of youth.
Responsibilities
* Implement trauma-informed care and therapeutic interventions for youth with complex trauma profiles
* Develop and deliver programs that support youth\'s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development
* Provide guidance and counselling on various life issues, fostering a supportive environment
* Collaborate with community organizations and families to ensure youth have a safe and healthy space to grow
* Maintain accurate records of interactions with the youth and progress made towards goals
Skills
* Empathy and understanding towards young people
* Ability to build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of community resources for youth support
Qualifications
* Certification 3 & 4 in Youth Work, Community Services and other related fields
* Experience in trauma-informed care and therapeutic crisis intervention
* Ability to engage with diverse communities and apply culturally appropriate practices
* Strong communication and organizational skills, with proficiency in administration and computer literacy
* Valid driver\'s license and access to a reliable vehicle
* Valid Working With Children
* Current Australian Working Rights
* NDIS worker screening check & modules (including police checks)
If successful willing to undergo a 395 Clearance Check.
