Senior Accountant – Private Client Advisory

We're partnering with a leading private client advisory firm to appoint a Senior Accountant into a high-performing and collaborative team in Sydney. This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced accountant to step into a role offering strong Australian exposure, hands-on advisory work, and clear progression within a well-established firm. You'll work closely with Managers and Partners on sophisticated client matters, gain exposure to complex business and wealth structures, and take on a leadership role within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs
* Support Managers and Partners on complex advisory matters including business structuring, tax planning, asset protection, and wealth strategies
* Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management reports for larger and more sophisticated client groups
* Supervise, coach, and delegate work to junior accountants, providing technical guidance and mentoring
* Contribute to client relationships through clear communication and high-quality delivery
* Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice processes across the team
Qualifications & Experience:
* 3–5 years' experience in Australian public practice, ideally within business services or private client advisory
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Commerce
* CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification
* Strong technical accounting and Australian tax knowledge including Division 7A, GST, FBT, and SMSFs
* Experience working with complex business structures and multi-entity groups
* Proven ability to review work, manage priorities, and supervise junior staff
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
* Exposure to interest rate swaps or derivative instruments is advantageous but not essential
