As an Equipment Mechanic Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of machinery and equipment. Your key responsibilities will include performing breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and annual overhauls to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Repairs and Maintenance: Respond to machinery breakdowns, perform repairs, and ensure effective operation to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
* Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute annual preventative maintenance programs and overhaul schedules.
* Machinery Operation: Ensure the effective operation of all machinery and equipment.
* Capital Works: Assist with the purchase, construction, and installation of new machinery as required.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance cost, quality, and service.
* Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all food safety, environmental, health and safety, and ethical policies. Participate in safety initiatives and report incidents or hazards.
* Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues, management, and external contractors to share knowledge and contribute to a positive team culture.
Requirements include experience in food manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude and engineering skills, proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in pumps, gearboxes, and other machinery. Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam processes is highly desirable. Qualifications include a mechanical trade certificate in fitting and machining, welding certification (MMAW and GTAW processes).
