The Operations & Events Manager will play a key role in strengthening internal operations and overseeing the operational execution of events. Impact of the organisation: Neuroblastoma Australia is a dedicated children's cancer charity committed to improving outcomes for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer predominantly affecting toddlers. With survival rates for high-risk cases around 50%, and treatments often leading to long-term side effects, the organisation's mission is to fund world-class research aimed at developing more effective and less toxic therapies. Their goal is 100% survival, ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy and free from the burdens of this disease. Through raising awareness, supporting affected families, and investing in leading research projects, Neuroblastoma Australia strives to find a cure and provide hope for families impacted by this devastating illness. Impact you will have: Reporting to the CEO, this newly created role will be integral in overseeing the operations of the business, including identifying opportunities to improve systems, increase efficiency, manage risk, lead on IT matters, and support long-term sustainability. You will also take charge of volunteer and intern management, and other ad-hoc tasks that arise. This role will also oversee a small team of Event Managers and will support the operational execution of Neuroblastoma Australia’s events and operations portfolio, ensuring every event runs safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard. This is a dynamic, hands-on role with a broad scope and the opportunity to truly make it your own. You’ll need to be proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a small team across various business areas. Key Responsibilities: Review and co-ordinate the planning and operations for the Run2Cure event series (Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne), gala dinners, golf days, parent conferences and community events Oversee internal operations, including budget oversight, systems improvement, office logistics, resourcing and IT including a CRM roll out Develop Customer experience at events and from our services through evaluating processes and systems in use Supervise, support, and develop a small team of Event Managers and interns Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and sponsors, to deliver integrated, impactful and cost-effective outcomes Drive efficiencies across charity programs and identify opportunities for new services or delivery models working with marketing and fundraising team Provide regular reports on operational performance, financial status, and progress towards strategic objectives Ensure compliance, risk management, and safety across all charity events and activities Liaise and manage sponsors to ensure delivery is in line with the sponsorship terms and offers additional value Skills and Experience: You’ll be a confident operations and events lead who thrives in a varied role with lots of ownership and visible impact. You’re a natural organiser, clear communicator, and solutions-thinker.
