Positioned within our Private Label Sourcing Team, an opportunity exists for an experienced Buyer to support our high-performing team in driving the continued profitability of our Woolworths Food Business.

With a passion for food and a strong buying experience, you will be responsible for developing and executing our Own Brand category plans in close collaboration with our Category teams and Product Developers. You will be required to work with a wide variety of stakeholders from both within the business and with our supply base and must therefore possess excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
**Key responsibilities:
- Maintain intimate knowledge of sales and GP performance of categories by SKU.
- Negotiate contracts on existing and new product portfolio.
- Deliver COGS reductions across the respective categories without impacting quality, through ensuring better buying and working collaboratively with our suppliers.
- Understand supply base capability and identify opportunities to nurture new supplier relationships to deliver long-term competitive advantage.
- Review, refine and amend supplier strategies so WW has the most compelling offers.
- Monitor and act upon KPIs to ensure supply continuity across the product portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with supply expectation KPI's.
- Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to deliver the lowest input costs and most innovative products for the Longlife team.
- Minimum of two years experience in a retail/commercial function at buyer or equivalent level ideally in Food as a minimum
- Prior experience in supplier development and procurement.
- Strong understanding of product componentry and cost makeup of goods, as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes, and impact on the cost of goods.
- Knowledge of local and international sourcing processes and capabilities will be valuable.
- Demonstrated track record in collaborating cross-functionally and capability to deliver initiatives on time and to agreed metrics.
- Sound project and organisational skills will underpin this.
- Exceptional negotiation, judgement and are highly resilient - able to flex and adapt as needed.
