As a Handy Person, you will support the Director of Engineering (DOE) and Engineering Supervisor in performing routine maintenance throughout the hotel. Your role ensures that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, operating safely and efficiently to deliver outstanding comfort and satisfaction for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and basic room ac repairs.
* Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems such as lighting, appliances, doors, locks, and furniture.
* Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and complete work orders efficiently.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.
* Perform preventive maintenance checks and document findings.
* Assist with setting up and or removal of furniture or equipment as needed.
* Work closely with housekeeping and front desk teams to address issues quickly.
* Follow all health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a handyperson, maintenance worker, or in a similar role, 5 star Hotel experience is desirable
* Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items, stand, and work in various conditions.
* Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment:
* Indoor and outdoor work across hotel property.
* Regular use of hand tools and power tools.
* Interaction with hotel guests and staff.
* To conduct other tasks as and when directed by DOE and or Engineering Supervisor.
