We are looking for an experienced pipelayer to join our growing company. As a pipe layer, you will be responsible for the installation of infrastructure such as sewer, potable water, and stormwater. Primary Responsibilities
* Read and interpret construction drawings.
* Install Sewer and Potable Water to current SA Water technical standards.
* Install Stormwater to Technical Construction Standards.
* Competently use hand tools and set up rotating lasers and grade lasers.
* Work in a team and coordinate activities with plant, operators and labourers.
* General labour and construction-related duties
Required qualifications and licences:
* Valid Driver's Licence
* White Card
* Experienced and competent in SA Water, sewer and watermain pipe laying.
* RIICRC208E Lay Pipes
* RIICPL303E Install Sewer Pipelines
* RIICPL301E Install Water Mains Pipelines
Desired but not required qualifications and licences:
* Enter and Work in Confined Spaces (RIIWHS202E)
* Observe Permit Work (MSMPER202)
* Certificate III in Civil Construction
* Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence or other class truck licence
* First Aid
Skills & Experience:
* Experience in SA Water sewer and watermain.
* Technical knowledge of materials and construction concepts.
* Must be comfortable working in 1.5m to 4m trenches and other confined spaces.
* Possess physical strength to dig and perform general labour with labourer crews, including digging by hand.
* Team player, with strong leadership skills, who can operate effectively in a team environment.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management.
* Ability to work in a high-production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
