Jamaica Blue Ellenbrook is looking for full-time chefs to join our team.
Successful applicants are expected to support the continued growth of Jamaica Blue Ellenbrook through the preparation and delivery of high-quality cafe meals while maintaining food safety, consistency, and customer satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing, cooking, garnishing, and presenting a wide range of breakfast dishes, lunch items, desserts, and catering orders in accordance with brand standards and recipes.
* Assisting management in reviewing menu offerings and providing recommendations for seasonal specials and promotional items.
* Ensuring all food is prepared and presented consistently in accordance with franchise specifications and quality standards.
* Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, plating, and service activities to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high food standards.
* Training and mentoring cooks and kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking procedures, and workplace hygiene requirements.
* Estimating food requirements, controlling stock levels, ordering ingredients, and liaising with approved suppliers to ensure the availability of quality products.
* Monitoring food and labour costs, minimising wastage.
* Assisting with the recruitment, induction, training, and performance supervision of kitchen staff.
* Ensuring food is stored, handled, and prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and Western Australian health requirements.
* Inspecting kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency, and arranging maintenance.
* Maintaining records relating to food production, stock control, and food safety compliance.
Skill & Experience
* Diploma or above qualification in hospitality industry.
* At least one year of relevant work experience.
* Able to work under pressure.
* Good communication skills and team‐work spirit.
