Step Into Your Next Chapter:
As a Cleaner, you will play a key part in the effective daily operation of the school by delivering high-quality cleaning services in line with the school's approved cleaning program. You will ensure learning spaces, facilities, and outdoor areas meet cleanliness and hygiene standards that support student wellbeing and success.
You will report to the Principal or their nominated delegate and work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a positive and secure environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning windows, doors, glass, pictures, fittings, sinks, taps and drinking fountains.
- Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming classrooms, offices and shared spaces.
- Dusting furniture, equipment and fans.
- Cobweb and mildew removal (including use of extendable equipment).
- Cleaning of concrete, bitumen and paved areas.
- Graffiti removal where required.
- Vinyl/timber floor care (buffing, stripping and polishing).
- Hosing designated areas.
- Safe disposal of rubbish, litter control and clearing drains and gutters.
- Equipment & Security
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment used in daily duties.
- Locking/unlocking buildings and activating/disarming security systems as required.
- Communication & Reporting
- Reporting safety, security or maintenance concerns to the Principal/Business Manager.
- Liaising regarding the purchase or replacement of cleaning resources.
- Assisting members of the public by directing enquiries to appropriate staff.
