Join our team as a BI Support Consultant, where you'll own and manage our IBM Cognos Analytics platform from the operating system up. This is not a report‐development or dashboard‐design role – it's a hands‐on technical position focused on performance, reliability and security.
Where you'd be working
Our Support Consultants work in our Milton office as part of our QLD Branch.
What you'd be doing (your day will look like this)
You will be responsible for administering and diagnosing issues within the Cognos platform and its supporting infrastructure, including Linux servers, email relays and database connectivity. Your day‐to‐day will involve:
* Managing a containerised BI platform
* Administering, patching, and performance‐tuning IBM Cognos Analytics on Linux (RHEL).
* Troubleshooting email notification processes inside Cognos.
* Managing Cognos content store databases (SQL Server, Informix) – backups, reorganizations, connectivity.
* Linux server administration and basic shell scripting for automation and monitoring.
* Troubleshooting Java applications (heap dumps, logs).
* Working with networking components (firewalls, basic networking and authentication).
