Payroll Recovery Services delivers Queensland Health's overpayment and loan management function, striving to deliver quality, responsible, accountable and outcome-focussed recovery services. As the Principal Advisor, you will play a key leadership role in supporting this objective by contributing to and applying Queensland Health's strategic direction relating to overpayments, ensuring the appropriate application of relevant legislation, implementing and suggesting improvements to related policies, overseeing the management of contentious cases and effectively managing a high performing team and key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Expert ability to identify and analyse complex problems and cases, including the developing and implementing robust strategies.
- Well-developed leadership and management skills to build and sustain a relationship-based culture within a customer service team, involving active and regular engagement focussed on individual and team success.
- Expert ability in preparing correspondence, briefs and reports on complex and contentious matters.
- High level of political astuteness and ability to identify, analyse and manage potentially contentious issues with sensitivity and diplomacy.
- Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills including ability to negotiate, advise, influence and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change to achieve positive business improvement and service delivery outcomes.
- Proven, or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire, understanding payroll and finance information systems
