Remuneration package valued at $168,946.00. This position attracts a base salary of $149,059.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation.
Position Information
Woonona High School (P3) provides excellent secondary education for 750 students from Year 7 to Year 12, including high‑quality personalised learning for students in the Support Unit. School planning, communication and pedagogical practices focus the efforts of the whole school community on student success. Staff operate within a professional learning culture underpinned by student‑centred, research‑informed, innovative teaching practice and holistic approaches to student wellbeing. The school enjoys its relationship with its community of schools, a supportive parent body and the University of Wollongong. Amongst the student population are 5% with an Aboriginal background and 7% with a language background other than English (LBOTE).
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a collaborative, high‑performing English Faculty characterised by a strong sense of shared purpose to drive excellence in teaching and learning.
* Lead the implementation of the 7‑12 English syllabus through effective planning, programme development, and evaluation processes that strengthen engagement and provide equitable learning opportunities for all students.
* Expertise in leading systematic curriculum and assessment review processes, applying data‑informed insights to strengthen teaching practice and drive continual improvement in student learning outcomes.
* Demonstrated capacity to collaborate dynamically with the executive team to lead, enact and sustain whole‑school priorities in line with the school's School Excellence Plan to drive whole‑school improvement.
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Conditions
