About the Role
Prison and Youth Detention Health Services (PYDHS) is currently looking for a
Registered Nurse
to provide primary health care to prisoners in the Lockyer Valley Correctional Precinct.

PYDHS is a multidisciplinary team providing a primary care model which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in a correctional facility.
About You
Contemporary clinical knowledge in primary health care nursing; capable of delivering competent nursing care in complex situations while supporting other team members. Clinical experience in corrections, primary health care, emergency or rural and remote health would be highly regarded.
Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to learning and development of others to a high standard.
Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.
Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
Ability to provide clinical education and support.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
Mandatory Requirements
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties
