Property Underwriter
Zurich, a leader in the insurance industry, invites you to join our team as a Property Underwriter. In this role you will assess risk and make informed decisions about which properties Zurich insures and on what terms. You will work closely with brokers to understand their clients' needs, balance commercial outcomes with sound judgement, and help build a profitable and sustainable insurance portfolio.
This position supports the growth of our South Australian and Northern Territory property portfolio and offers a clear pathway for early‐career professionals to develop into a Property Underwriter through mentorship and structured development.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the underwriting of new and existing property business in line with Zurich's appetite and guidelines
* Building strong relationships with brokers through proactive, professional service
* Preparing, reviewing and managing underwriting information to support decision making
* Working closely with senior underwriters to learn risk assessment and portfolio management
* Contributing to the ongoing growth and sustainability of the SA and NT property portfolio
* Using systems, data and digital tools to deliver timely and accurate outcomes
Qualifications
* Experience in insurance, banking, financial services or a customer‐focused commercial environment
* Background in broker support, sales support, customer service or account management
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
* Ability to analyse information and follow processes with care and judgement
* Confidence using systems and digital tools in a fast‐paced environment
* A genuine interest in developing a career in underwriting
