**About the Role**
The Electrical instrument and controls Operator / Maintainer is responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of a 3-unit Open Cycle Gas Turbine power station and associated Balance of Plant including Low and High Voltage systems, liquid and gas fuels systems, and water treatment systems.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
**Safety**
- Ensure compliance to all relevant Australian Standards
- Issue Permit to carry out safe works to subcontracts and supervisor works being conducted
- Carry out diligence to safe work practices, monthly HSE meetings and safety inspections
- Identifying and reporting irregular or unsafe conditions or other plant anomalies to the Operations Manager and Operations Control Centre
**Operations**
- Monitor and efficiently operate all site plant, equipment and systems
- Operate Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) and associated Balance of Plant (BOP) both locally and remotely
- Complete daily inspections, reading, operating logs and onsite deliveries
- Perform isolation and permitting operations including High Voltage (HV) switching
**Maintenance**
- Inspect, repair and calibrate mechanical and electrical equipment associated with gas turbines, generators, control valves, motors, and balance of plant equipment
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on electrical systems up to 33kV
- Service/maintain, assemble, disassemble, repair and adjust mechanical and electrical equipment
**Qualifications**
- Cert 3 in Instrumentation & control or Cert 4 in Electrical Instrumentation
- Electrical licence
- Mechanical experience
- High Voltage Switching experience
- Electrical Equipment In Hazardous Area qualification
- Type B Industrial Gas Fitters License
- Working at heights and confined spaces accreditation
- Current CPR, First Aid and LV Rescue
**Skills and Experience**
- Minimum 3 - 5 years in Power generation heavy industry
- Familiar with DCS, PLC, SCADA and control system networks
- Computer skills, Outlook Word & Excel
- Ability to carry out safe work processes and procedures
- Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical materials and fittings
- Physically Fit
