We are seeking an Allied Health Educator to support our Mental Health Alcohol & Other Drugs Service. This role focuses on delivering high-quality education, training, and workforce development to enhance best practice, improve consumer outcomes, and strengthen multidisciplinary care. This position is ideal for an experienced allied health professional with a passion for education, workforce development, and continuous improvement.
Your Opportunity:
The Allied Health Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (MHAODS) Clinical Educator will enhance the development of the allied health workforce through:
* Delivering high quality evidence based Allied Health clinical education services for allied health professions within the MHAODS.
* Providing allied health specific training within MHAODS.
* Supporting the entry-level workforce to obtain minimum and desirable skills.
* Facilitating a training, mentoring and supervision strategy for allied health in MHAODS to guide skill development and maintenance of core competencies from pre-entry and new graduates to advanced allied health practitioners.
* Expanding the capacity of the allied health workforce to provide clinical education placements.
Permanent Full Time (76 hours p.f.) or Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable).
What we're looking for:
* High level knowledge of Occupational Therapy or Psychology or Social Work clinical service delivery in mental health alcohol and other drug services.
* Ability to coordinate and develop clinical education programs with a focus on evidence-based models relative to mental health and alcohol and other drug service delivery.
* High level knowledge of adult learning principles, quality improvement and research methodologies.
* Demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills with a wide range of stakeholders including students, clinicians, managers and university staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
* For Psychologists: Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as a Psychologist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* For Occupational Therapists: Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as an Occupational Therapist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* For Social Workers: Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.
* Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short‑listing in the selection process.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
