North Queensland Region is seeking two (2) Senior Education Officers (EOSD) to contribute to the region's multi-tiered system of support for behaviour in 2026. As the Senior Education Officer (EOSD), you will support regional and school staff to develop and embed evidence-based practices within a whole school approach to support a culture of learning and engagement. This role will design, deliver and evaluate staff capability for student engagement, behaviour and social-emotional learning and support implementation of effective student case management across the region.
The successful candidate will be employed at the classification listed on the attached role description under EOSD provisions.

Why this Role?
- Establishing and maintaining professional and effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to support school and regional improvement
- Strengthening leader and teacher understanding of evidence-based strategies required to develop a whole-school, multi-tiered framework for student support including effective case management practices
- Providing guidance to school leadership teams in understanding and implementing Department of Education policy to facilitate high quality instructional and behaviour practices at the point of delivery to students
- Identifying opportunities to provide support for school leaders and teachers with effective and differentiated teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students
- Coordinating and conducting online and face-to-face professional development, targeted to the areas of need identified
- Collating, analysing and reporting regional and school level data to senior staff to support them to meet relevant accountabilities
- Demonstrating ongoing commitment to skilled learning relevant to the required improvement work and outcomes
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

Eligibility Requirements
- You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
- Employees engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 5.12 of the Department of Education State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2022.
