We're looking for an experienced station hand (2–3+ years under your belt) to join the crew at Mulgathing Station — one of Jumbuck's great outback sheep places.
Jumbuck is a fourth-generation Australian pastoral business, running large-scale sheep and cattle operations across the country.
Here at Mulgathing, we run around 30,000 Merinos over 530,700 hectares, with a small, capable team of 7. The station sits about 100km west of the Stuart Highway, midway between Glendambo and Coober Pedy.
We're after someone confident working with others and happy to take a lead with day-to-day station jobs — from helping guide junior staff to keeping the place running smoothly alongside management.
If you can ride a 2-wheel motorbike, know your way around engines and waters, and love the variety of outback work, you'll fit right in.
What you'll be doing:
* Mustering and stock work (on motorbikes)
* Yard work and sheep handling
* Water runs, maintenance and repairs (solar, windmills, pipelines, troughs, gensets)
* Fencing, mechanical and general station maintenance
* Supporting junior team members and helping them learn the ropes
What's on offer:
* Great day rate – pay based on experience
* All meals and accommodation included (air-conditioned single quarters with Starlink)
* 6 weeks annual leave
* Bonus structure from day one
* Work and live in one of the most stunning, remote parts of Australia
If you're someone who enjoys the lifestyle, the open country, and being part of a tight-knit outback crew, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and kick off your next chapter with Jumbuck.
