2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.This position, reporting to Nicole, is responsible for clients' bookkeeping as delegated by the director to ensure accuracy and completeness of work with a high level of attention to detail, while maintaining productivity standards.Part-time or contractor availableRole & ResponsibilitiesConduct data entry of bank accounts, invoices/receipts, and bills/paymentsProcess payroll requirementsReconcile all bank, credit card, and loan accountsReconcile key general ledger accountsReport unusual or inconsistent movements to the manager or clientConsult with clients regarding queriesCheck draft accounts once processed and verify balance sheet itemsCheck profit and loss items and analyze ledger accountsPrepare reconciliations of GST and payroll accounts from the general ledgerResearch GST and compliance issuesPrepare financial reports and working papersPrepare business activity statements (if requested)Liaise with ATO and other statutory bodies as requiredInterpret cash flow if requiredAttend and participate in client meetingsMaintain & update client manual, checklists, and process documentsUpdate own timesheets and other admin requirements as directedEnsure client accounts are kept up to date and orderly based on client expectationsPerform other activities as requiredCore ExperienceIdeally at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role with Certification IV in BookkeepingSound bookkeeping skills and understanding of accounting theoryProficient computer literacy, including navigating around a computer and accessing email, internet programsGood communication skills, both written and oralAbility to work as part of a teamWillingness to learnAbility to meet deadlines and prioritize workloadHigh attention to detailWillingness to comply with all policies and procedures of the companyBusiness-like personal presentationExperience with Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOBIntermediate experience with Microsoft Office, especially ExcelEducation RequiredSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typePart-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and Finance
