Job Description
You will be a key member of our culinary team, working closely with the Chefs and Head Chef. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare a variety of dishes to order, adhering to recipes and house standards.
* Taste and adjust seasoning during preparation to ensure flavors are balanced.
* Present food attractively, adding sauces and garnishes before serving.
* Inspect produce and supplies to ensure they are fresh and suitable for use.
* Store ingredients safely in fridges, freezers, and other controlled areas.
* Operate ovens, grills, and similar equipment, maintaining optimal temperatures.
* Prepare meals for customers with allergies or dietary needs when required.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan new menu items and estimate food quantities.
* Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff.
Qualification & Experience
A highly relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV is required. In addition, one year of full-time work experience as a Cook in the last five years is essential.
Mandatory certificate: SITXFSA006 - Participate in safe food handling practices.
