Fishing Volunteer for Fishing Program - Albany
Do you love fishing or just love helping people?
We are seeking Volunteers for our Albany Fishing Programs.
Fishability has been operating for over 20 years, providing accessible fishing opportunities for people with disabilities.
Fishability provides a fun, welcoming experience in an outdoor environment for our participants and volunteers alike.
The Albany Jetty and Albany Boat Programs run Friday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am at Emu Point.
Fishing is one of the most popular recreational activities in Australia.
Fishability operates fishing programs across the State, to enable people with disabilities an opportunity to participate in recreational fishing.
You will be joining an existing team of dedicated wonderful Fishability volunteers, taking people with disabilities fishing at Emu Point on either the Jetty or our purpose built Fishability vessel the Nev Thomas.
For fishing days you will be working with a team of volunteers, setting up for fishing; greeting fishers and their support workers; assisting with fishing and pack down after the event.
Please note that all fishers are accompanied by carers to attend to any personal requirements of the fishers allowing our volunteers to focus on providing any assistance with fishing.
Activities are currently scheduled once a week for Friday mornings during the fishing season, we usually have a one month winter and summer break in Albany.
We ask that volunteers are available to volunteer at least once per month.
Time commitment is ~3 hours on fishing days.
