Director – Australian Market Expansion
Limelight People has been exclusively engaged to identify a senior Director-level candidate to lead our client’s expansion into the Australian market.
Our client is a globally established, mid-sized management consultancy experiencing rapid growth across multiple regions. With a clear mandate from the executive team, this newly created leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing the Australian market strategy building operations, expanding capability, and driving commercial outcomes.
Operating as part of a dynamic global network, our client partners with organisations to digitise business models, products, and services—from concept through to implementation. You’ll have access to a suite of successful case studies spanning AI, business transformation, and digital innovation to support your go-to-market strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
* Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets.
* Lead new business acquisition and build long-term client partnerships.
* Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities across industries and sectors.
* Promote cross-selling across existing customer structures in collaboration with the global group.
* Enhance brand positioning and market visibility across Australia.
Commercial Management
* Own full commercial responsibility for the Australian entity.
* Oversee budget planning, cost control, and financial management.
* Ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in coordination with external advisors (e.g. auditors, tax consultants).
* Coordinate and support meetings with the Advisory Board and shareholders.
Strategic Corporate Management
* Collaborate with the global executive team and Advisory Board to define long-term growth strategy.
* Build and scale a high-performing team, with a focus on recruiting top consulting talent.
* Foster a performance-driven culture aligned with the company’s values.
* Enhance internal processes for operational efficiency and service quality
Operational Leadership
* Contribute to group-wide strategic projects (~50% of time) in an advisory or subject matter expert capacity.
* Work closely with delivery teams to ensure high-quality execution and client satisfaction.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, including resource allocation and business priorities
Your Profile
Knowledge & Experience
* Proven track record in sales, client acquisition, and business development in the consulting sector within Australia.
* Background in IT, digital transformation, or technology-led consulting engagements.
* Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
* Deep understanding of the Australian business landscape.
* Industry exposure across: Manufacturing/Engineering, Healthcare, Financial Services, Government.
