We’re excited to offer casual opportunities for farm hands to join our team at our Maryborough macadamia orchards. This role is ideal for people who enjoy hands- on outdoor work, like being part of a supportive team, and want to build practical skills in agriculture.
Whether you already have farm experience or are keen to learn, we provide on-the-job training and the chance to work in a well-established and safety-focused operation.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Orchard Manager, your work will vary day to day and may include:
* General farm work such as maintenance, basic repairs, and identifying safety hazards
* Assisting with the irrigation installation and maintenance
* Planting, pruning and care for macadamia trees
* Operating farm machinery (on farm training provided)
* Assisting with herbicide and pesticide application.
* Working precisely to ensure compliance with work health and safety standards
* Being part of a positive, reliable and team- focused work environment.
Requirements
You’ll be someone who:
* Holds a C class drivers’ licence (essential)
* Is reliable, flexible and able to work available to work varying hours as required (including potential for Saturday work)
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Takes pride in working safely and doing a job well
* Has farm or outdoor work experience (advantageous but not essential)
* Holds a Chemical Users Certificate (preferred but not essential)
* Certificate II or III in Rural Studies or Horticulture or Agriculture (advantageous but not essential)
