About the role
Seeking two detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officers to join our Finance team - one full time, one part time (three days per week, preference Monday to Wednesday, however, we're happy to discuss alternative days or flexible arrangements to suit the right candidate).
In these business and employee facing roles, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Australian legislation and company policies.
Location: ACS HQ, 18 Thomson St, South Melbourne
Working arrangements: Onsite with flexibility as agreed
What you'll be doing
* Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
* Ensure compliance with relevant Awards, Fair Work legislation, superannuation, PAYG, and tax obligations
* Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations, and contract changes
* Reconcile payroll reports, superannuation payments, and payroll-related general ledger accounts
* Prepare payroll journals and assist with month-end reporting requirements
* Respond to payroll queries promptly while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
What you'll bring
* 5yrs of end-to-end payroll experience with strong accuracy and compliance
* Solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, and superannuation
* Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with employees and managers
* Confident in providing practical payroll advice and guidance
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Proactive, solutions-focused, with strong communication skills
