Role Description
This full-time General Practitioner role is a hybrid position based in the Greater Brisbane Area, with a mix of on-site clinic work and some work-from-home flexibility. The General Practitioner will conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults, including history taking, physical and mental health evaluation, and diagnostic formulation. Daily responsibilities include developing and reviewing treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring medications, providing psychoeducation, and coordinating care with other health professionals. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical records, participating in multidisciplinary discussions, and contributing to quality improvement and clinical governance activities. The General Practitioner will be expected to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive care while supporting patients in long-term management of ADHD and co-occurring conditions.
Qualifications
* Clinical expertise in Medicine and Primary Care, with demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, and manage adult patients in an outpatient setting.
* Background in Family Medicine and experience in mental health or neurodevelopmental conditions, ideally including ADHD assessment and management.
* Experience collaborating with Nursing and other allied health professionals to deliver coordinated, team-based care.
* Commitment to Training, ongoing professional development, and keeping up to date with current guidelines and best practices in ADHD and general practice.
* Current medical degree (MBBS or equivalent), full AHPRA registration, and eligibility to practice unsupervised in Australia.
* Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and trauma-informed approach.
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, including proficiency with electronic medical records and telehealth platforms.
* Experience in private practice, psychopharmacology for ADHD, or additional mental health training (e.g., Focussed Psychological Strategies) is highly regarded.
