We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Deputy Principal to join our leadership team, with a strong focus on strategic school improvement, inclusive education, and wellbeing support at Mackay Central State School.
This leadership opportunity is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering excellence in student outcomes, building strong relationships, and providing intensive support for students with complex needs.
This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, from 14 July 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities:

* Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to drive the strategic direction of the school in alignment with the Annual Implementation Plan and systemic priorities. Support the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance teaching and learning, staff capability, and school performance.
* Relational Leadership: Build and sustain positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community. Promote a school culture that is inclusive, respectful, and focused on student wellbeing and engagement.
* Case Management and Tier 3 Support: Provide leadership in the case management of Tier 3 students with complex needs. Coordinate support services, lead multidisciplinary meetings, and work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure effective interventions and personalised support plans.
* Capability Development: Mentor and support staff in best practice strategies for behaviour, engagement, and differentiation. Lead professional development initiatives that build capacity across student support and wellbeing.

About You
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
* Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated impact on whole-school improvement.
* Deep understanding of inclusive practices and a commitment to equity in education.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire.
* Strong knowledge of behaviour support frameworks, trauma-informed practices, and case management processes.
* Ability to lead collaboratively in a complex and evolving school environment.
