Job Title: Senior Medical Officer
The position of Senior Medical Officer is a critical role in providing high-quality medical services to the community.
* Provide medical care and advice to patients;
* Develop and implement treatment plans;
* Maintain accurate records of patient information.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification;
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent;
* Advanced skills in emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, remote medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, mental health, paediatrics and/or palliative care.

Others:
* Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements – it is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough).
* Hepatitis B Vaccination – Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids must be immunised against Hepatitis B according to the National Health and Medical Research Council Australian Immunisation Handbook and the Queensland Health Infection Control Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a high-quality, effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to hospital clients;
* Provide education of medical staff and students, allied health, interested community groups and nursing staff;
* Co-ordinate as necessary with other personnel within the hospital, other hospital services and agencies to ensure optimum patient care, and to ensure integration of services in the wider community.
Work Environment:
The Moranbah Hospital and Health Service is located in the Isaac Regional Shire in the town of Moranbah. The Moranbah Health Service consists of Moranbah Hospital, Community & Allied Health, Mental Health & AODS services. Moranbah Hospital has a 12-bed acute inpatient facility and an emergency department service. In addition, Specialist Outpatients, Medical Imaging – x-ray and ultrasound, and a range of telehealth services.
