The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Perks Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme.

About the role

The Authority is seeking a Lawyer to support a broad range of legal and regulatory matters within its growing team.

Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, you will provide clear, practical advice to help the Authority meet its obligations under the Scheme. The role involves interpreting legislation, advising on compliance, and supporting operational decisions.

Working with a collaborative legal team, you will apply sound judgment and contribute to strategic outcomes in a dynamic regulatory environment. This is a role where your expertise will help ensure fairness, legal integrity, and risk-based decision-making.

This position is located in Bendigo but can also be carried out from our Melbourne office.

About you

- You will be admitted to practice law in Victoria
- Be able to work across several different legal areas
- Demonstrated experience working in-house with a regulator, or a passion to learn and develop in this area will also be highly regarded
- Strong writing ability and communication skills for varied audiences
- A ‘can do' approach to work
