**About the Team**
The Financial Control Branch is responsible for the financial management of the Agency and Scheme, and provides insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making. Key accountabilities include producing audited annual financial statements, the Annual Report, budgets, monthly financial reports and forecasts. The branch manage the maintenance and development of finance systems, analysing financial performance, and providing financial advice to support decision making and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
**The Role**:
The
**APS5 Finance Officer** is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and allocating work to other lower level team members within a team. The APS5 Finance Officer will perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports and contributes to agency's objectives. You will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.
**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:
- Assisting with asset payments, costing proposals and initiatives as required.
- Drafting a range of written material including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Establishing, managing and providing financial management advice to internal and external stakeholders to improve the financial management and operations in the agency.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Monitoring and managing work output and quality against established performance standards through quality analysis and reporting.
- Monitoring and reporting on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to assist local management to manage overall performance.
- Undertaking financial administration across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.
- Undertaking weekly, end of month and end of financial year SAP FI system rollover activities and provide assistance to users of SAP FI as required.

**Essential Skills and experience**:
- Proven experience or exposure in **finance sector in managing paymnets, expenditure reports, accruals and budgets.**:
- Proven **administration skills** and experience, displaying **organisational** and **time-management** skills.
- Demonstrated experience in a** Finance function**, ideally in **Government or in a large organisation**:
- Demonstrated experience measuring and reporting on compliance with approved policies/procedures
- Demonstrated ability to **interpret, analyse, and present data** and proficient use of **Excel.**:
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a small team.
- CPA qualification or substantial progress towards and experience in SAP is desirable but not mandatory
