The Downing Network is a National Executive Search firm leading the delivery of senior appointments in Infrastructure & Construction throughout Australia.
We are currently working with a privately owned National Contractor looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join an award-winning Engineering Solutions Provider.
Our client is a reputable Engineering Services provider with services that include manufacturing, project delivery, defence projects and structural steel projects from design through to handover.
Our client has spent the past 30 years building a network of established clients and now seeks to appoint an established Financial Controller with experience in an engineering construction setting.
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will manage the day-to-day operations of a small accounting group.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies across regions and business units.
- Work with Management and Project Delivery teams to develop and execute financial strategies that align with operational goals.
- Balance multiple priorities within a deadline driven environment.
- Motivate and influence a large team of long term and committed team members.
- Be proactive and resourceful with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Understand the importance of financial reports, forecasting project status and working with stakeholders.
- Enjoy working with a committed and successful team and engage with the social aspect of this close team.
