Your duties and responsibilities
* Prepare and process the weekly apprentice pay run, leave and benefits
* Correctly interpret awards and enterprise agreements to ensure accuracy of the apprentice pay run
* Lodge all notifications, payments and reports as required by statutory authorities
* Update and maintain payroll records and systems such as timesheets, leave records, new starters and terminations and any other information to apprentices and host employers
* Act as point of contact for apprentices and answer queries relating to pay
* Process special payments outside the weekly pay when required
* Reconcile all payroll related accounts on a monthly basis i.e. superannuation, WorkCover
* Prepare and present payroll information at inductions of new apprentices
* Read, interpret and assist setting up enterprise agreements customisations in the payroll system
* Assist with the set-up of host employer charge out rates in accordance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements, contract and Fair Work Act
* Answer queries relating to enterprise agreements from our host employers and apprentices
* Complete host customisation rollovers with our Payroll Admin Officer
* Assist in preparing monthly financial reports
* Assist in preparing for all end of financial year audits and reporting requirements
* Lodge and calculate commencement and completion incentives, CTF claims and any other incentives
* Update and maintain payroll and finance records, systems and payroll documents in HR personnel files
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualification in payroll / human resources
* Previous experience in Payroll
* Good understanding of payroll compliance and practice
* Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
* Experience with Microsoft Suite of products and accounting software
* Strong skills in Excel
* Ability to liaise with clients and demonstrate a professional phone manner
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
* Qualification in Finance or Accounting, or working towards
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
* Experience with 2cloudnine payroll
