Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital
You will act as a responsible and effective team member and will assist in the overall clinical management of the Operating Theatre. As an ANUM you will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care given by junior staff as well as deputising for and assisting the Nurse Unit Manager.
This position is available within our Main Theatre in the Scrub Scout team; this role will be primarily across a General Surgery & Breast portfolio.
The Position
* Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in collection of audits statistics staff performance management and productivity analysis data.
* Monitors staff levels against budget / target levels related to number of bed days occupancy and patient acuity. Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and / or Coordinator according to changes in levels.
* Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in identifying resource needs and developing budgets and operational plans.
* Discusses any concerns regarding patients and staff with Nursing Unit Manager / Coordinator grievances difficulties etc.
* Responsible for assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in following issues pertaining to human resources within the department and will assume full responsibility in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager.
* Demonstrates knowledge of / and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability / responsibility for own actions.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) registration.
* Minimum 3 years Surgical Scrub Scout experience and advanced practice knowledge specific to the specialty.
* Delegation, planning, organisational and motivational skills.

We can offer you
Salary: $115,908 to $119,811 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
Permanent full-time position.
