FACILITIES MAINTENANCE OFFICER SOUTH OF THE RIVER 3 MONTH CONTRACT IMMEDIATE START $42.80 PER HOUR Assist in carrying out general building maintenance, repairs and operational activities to the City's buildings and facilities. Adopt a safe work practice, provide a high level of customer service, ensure a high standard of maintenance and work as an active member within the Technical Services directorate. APPLICATION OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE Deliver maintenance activities that support the performance and reliability of assets. Carry out minor building repairs and maintenance under the instruction of the Property Supervisor. Apply technical skills, including the use of carpentry tools and work-at-heights techniques, to complete assigned tasks safely and effectively. Support efficient utilisation of materials, tools, vehicles and equipment in line with City guidelines. Undertake maintenance duties that contribute to the goal of maintaining facilities to a high standard for the community. Follow work schedules and task instructions, ensuring activities are completed on time and to required standards. OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE Work with Company systems and processes to receive and record work completed. Undertake tasks effectively, ensuring work activities are promptly addressed, and maintaining our green and built environment, all while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Work within systems and processes to ensure data and information is captured and able to be reported on. Contribute to progress reports in programmed maintenance activities within parks and reserves. Assists with building and maintaining positive relationships through providing a consistent approach whilst being able to respond to customer needs through providing practical advice about our services. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW, BE ABLE TO DO AND HAVE ACCREDITATIONS IN Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, including proficiency in using power and hand tools for various maintenance tasks. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, showcasing strong planning and time management skills. Basic computer skills for tasks such as documentation and communication. Proficiency in various cleaning activities, including knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use, as well as the ability to operate equipment such as pressure cleaners. Understanding of Occupational Safety and Health legislation relevant to the position, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within a team environment. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions accurately. Capacity to provide excellent customer service and manage time efficiently. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure safe handling of materials and chemicals. Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence. Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate.
