Geoporte Australia is seeking a Geotechnical Investigation Driller to support our soil and rock investigations across Victoria. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse geotechnical projects in a dynamic environment.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Geotechnical Investigation Driller who can operate a mini tracked drilling rig, such as the CE180 from Christie Engineering or similar. The driller will be responsible for conducting geotechnical drilling for soil and rock investigations, including borehole sampling and in-situ testing such as SPT, in accordance with industry standards and project specifications in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a mini tracked rig (CE180 or similar) for geotechnical drilling in soil and rock conditions.
- Conduct borehole investigations, including sample collection and in-situ testing.
- Ensure safe and efficient site operations in compliance with OH&S; regulations.
- Work effectively with geotechnical engineers and field technicians to collect high-quality samples.
- Maintain and service drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Accurately log drilling records and complete field reports.
- Travel to various project sites across Victoria as required.
Requirements
- Experience in geotechnical investigation drilling (soil and rock).
- Proficiency in operating a CE180 mini tracked drilling rig (or similar).
- Knowledge of borehole sampling techniques and geotechnical field testing.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) is required.
- Current driver's licence (preferably HR or MR licence).
- Strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site.
