About the OpportunityIn this role, you will transition from simple compliance to true business advisory. You will work closely with clients in the agribusiness, mining services, and local retail sectors, providing the insights they need to thrive in the Central Queensland economy.Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the preparation of financial reports and tax returns for complex entities.Providing strategic advice on tax minimisation, asset protection, and cash flow management.Leading client meetings and becoming a key pillar in their financial decision-making process.Supervising a small team of accountants, ensuring accuracy and professional development.Assisting with special projects, including business valuations and forensic accounting tasks.
Who You AreYou are a seasoned professional who enjoys the technical challenges of accounting but prefers the pace and personality of a regional firm.You will likely possess:
Full CA or CPA membership.Significant experience in an Australian public practice environment.A deep understanding of GST, FBT, and income tax in Xero and specialized reporting apps.A desire to live and work in the Mackay region long-term.
