We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre.

Job Description

Become a key player in our vibrant finance team and lead the payroll function for our distinguished property. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Payroll Specialist to provide accurate and efficient payroll services. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in exciting payroll-related projects, making a significant impact across our business.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the end-to-end weekly payroll cycle, from processing and reviewing to submitting for payment, as well as managing reporting requirements.
2. Preparing and verifying monthly accruals for salaries, wages, and on-costs.
3. Assisting in the month-end closing process, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
4. Calculating termination, redundancy, and other payments.
5. Managing the payroll financial year-end process.
6. Handling monthly and yearly reporting cycles, including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, FBT, and WGEA.
7. Collaborating with Talent & Culture to manage payroll inquiries and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

1. A strong track record of success in a similar role (hospitality industry experience preferred)
2. In-depth knowledge of HIGA award, superannuation, and taxation
3. Experience with Zambion is highly regarded
4. Demonstrated experience working effectively with both employees and management
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
6. Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and a keen attention to detail
