About the role
Working as a Residential Support Worker at our service in Belmont, you will empower the people we support to live independently and participate in the community. Providing hands on support while ensuring a safe, inclusive and empowering environment, you will become an integral part of their care team. We currently have four permanent part time positions available.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with personal care, daily living tasks and household duties.
* Supporting community participation, social engagement and recreational activities.
* Encouraging independence by helping build skills and achieve goals.
* Building meaningful relationships to provide person-centred support.
* Maintaining accurate and thorough records of activities, progress and incidents.
What you will bring to the role
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to problem solve
* Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
* Ability to accurately record case notes
* Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
* A passion for supporting people to live their best lives
* Current CPR, First Aid, Working with Children Check, NDIS Check & completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain)
* Victorian drivers licence
Roster and hours
At Gateways Support Services, we work on a fortnightly Week 1 / Week 2 roster, running Thursday to Wednesday. The roster for these vacancies is as follows:
* Line A - 30.5 Hours
o Week 1: Sun 5pm–10pm, Mon 2:30pm–9pm, Tue 7am–9:30am, Wed 2:30pm–9pm
o Week 2: Fri 7am–9:30am, Sun 3:30pm–6:30pm, Tue 3pm–7:30pm
* Line B - 29 Hours
o Week 1: Fri 7am–9am, Mon 3pm–7:30pm, Tue 5pm–10pm
o Week 2: Thurs 7am–9:30am, Sun 5pm–10pm, Tue 5pm–10pm, Wed 3pm–8pm
* Line C - 26.5 Hours
o Week 1: Thurs 3pm–8:30pm, Fri 7am–9am, Tue 3pm–8pm, Wed 5pm–10pm
o Week 2: Fri 7am–9am, Sat 5pm–10pm, Tue 7am–9am
* Line D - 27 Hours (Active Nights)
o Week 1: Tue 10pm–12am, Wed 12pm–7am
o Week 2: Thurs 10pm–12am, Fri 12pm–7pm, Tue 10pm–12am, Wed 12pm–7pm
