Job Description: We’re looking for a passionate and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort. This is a fantastic prospect for a chef ready to step up, take on leadership responsibilities, and deliver exceptional dining experiences in the heart of the Hunter Valley.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Lead and supervise sections of the kitchen during service
- Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and menu development
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety standards
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to support team growth
Qualifications: Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar, ready to step up. Strong culinary skills and a passion for high-quality food. Ability to lead a section and work well under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays. Relevant trade qualifications in commercial cookery.
