About the Role
As the
Executive Officer to the General Manager,
you will:
* Research, analyse and prepare clear, high-quality advice, briefings and reports on complex policy, planning and operational matters to support informed decision-making.
* Manage and mentor the Executive Assistant to General Manager.
* Lead and manage the Executive Office, overseeing workflow, correspondence, and the coordination of Council and Executive Leadership activities.
* Drive cross-organisational initiatives by translating GM priorities into coordinated actions and supporting transformation and change projects.
* Manage stakeholder engagement, including Councillors, the Mayor, government agencies, and internal teams, ensuring timely and professional communication
* Ensure organisational oversight and performance alignment, monitoring KPIs, risk, and corporate planning processes to support the GM and executive leadership.
What You'll Bring:
* Senior advisory experience in government (Local, State or Federal) or similar environments, with proven ability to liaise with elected officials and manage high-level stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and strategic skills, including preparation of briefings, reports, and policy advice to support informed decision-making.
* Expertise in governance and executive coordination, with knowledge of relevant legislation, frameworks, and corporate planning processes.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with experience influencing and engaging across diverse stakeholders.
* Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Leadership and mentoring capability, with the ability to manage teams, drive projects, and foster organisational improvement initiatives.
* Demonstrated understanding of the NSW planning system and housing reform agenda.
Desirable:
* Degree qualifications in Public Policy, Business, Management, Law or similar.
