Exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

The Hobart Continuing Care Team is a multidisciplinary team, delivering high quality mental health services to adults in the Hobart metro area and surrounds. The team works closely with all Continuing Care and Acute Care Services in southern Tasmania. There are also strong linkages with Primary Health, Community Service Organisations, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.There is a strong and supportive culture focussed on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers and families, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

Manage and supervise psychologists employed in the three Continuing Care Teams, southern Tasmania, including providing expert guidance on psychology treatment, case management, and coordinating individual supervision and peer review programs.

Provide comprehensive evidence-based clinical assessments, treatment and recovery, and recovery focussed interventions and clinical case management services.

Contribute to the Leadership of the Hobart Continuing Care Team.

Be an advisory to the Allied Health Director regarding psychology provision within the service

You will need:

* At least five years’ postgraduate psychology experience, including extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of Psychology theory and practice as it applies to a variety of service delivery settings, with at least two years’ experience in an area directly applicable to mental health.
* Extensive Psychology knowledge and experience in assessment, treatment, assertive case management and counselling. Proven ability to exercise a high degree of independent professional judgement and to take a leadership role in undertaking complex assessments and developing treatment plans for adults with major mental health problems.
* High-level strategic, conceptual, analytical, innovative and creative skills including the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate policies, protocols and procedures, advise on appropriate changes, and ensure the most effective utilisation of psychology resources to best meet the needs of the region.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing in August for a period of up to twelve (12) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $123,717 to $138,296 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

* Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia

Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

Relevant postgraduate qualifications in staff supervision, leadership or management

Registration as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia

Current Working with Children Registration
