Shree Food Australia Pty Ltd is seeking skilled Cooks and Chefs to join the full-time team at Longboat Café, an established coastal dining destination in Fingal Bay, NSW. Known for its strong focus on quality, locally sourced produce and carefully curated menus, the venue delivers high-volume service across breakfast and lunch with a professional kitchen structure, combining modern Australian flavours with seasonal specials. Its reputation is built on consistency, culinary standards, and an elevated dining experience that attracts both locals and visitors to the region.
These are full-time positions based in Fingal Bay, NSW 2315, offering a salary range of AUD 70-80K per annum plus superannuation, negotiable based on experience and suitability. The roles demand proven capability in menu execution, strong technical skills in food preparation, and the ability to work seamlessly in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including staff delegation, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate records.
* Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, either regularly or for special functions and events.
* Managing production schedules and staff requirements to ensure timely service delivery.
* Estimating food supply needs, calculating costs for ingredients, and managing orders accordingly.
* Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
* Analysing recipes and advising prices to menu items based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
* Working closely with team members to execute established recipes and menus with consistency and precision, ensuring alignment with seasonal availability and anticipated customer volume.
* Demonstrating new cooking techniques and introducing equipment to staff for continual culinary improvement.
* Oversee workstation readiness by ensuring mise en place is complete, equipment is functional, and kitchen operations are primed for service efficiency and food quality standards.
* Prepare and cook dishes in strict compliance with food safety and health regulations, ensuring the highest quality and hygiene standards are maintained.
* Assist in onboarding, training, and supervising new team members, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative, efficient work environment.
* Monitoring and enforcing sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety (WHS) and HACCP.
Qualifications & Skills
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
* Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery
* A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Cook or Chef in a comparable kitchen environment
* Strong understanding of WHS, HACCP, and food safety practices
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to relocate if based interstate or in another city
